The medical records of patients who developed post operative seroma from breast surgery during 1992-1993 were analysed & cross referenced to lymphoedema & appliance officer records. Aims to provide practice-based evidence showing why it is important to inform patients of measures to reduce the risk of lymphoedema following axillary dissection & in particular those patients with seroma.
