Cognitive analytic therapy for people with intellectual disabilities and their carers

This book introduces cognitive analytic therapy (CAT) and how to use it with people with intellectual disabilities. It is in three parts covering: overview - adaptation of tools, current use, formulating and working therapeutically; CAT in the community - problems of caring, use with staff teams, severe autism, the 2005 Mental Capacity Act; CAT in forensic settings - therapeutic communities, offender relationship treatment programmes, personality disorder and offending behaviour in a secure service, forensic intellectual disability settings.
