Summary: Fletcher factor deficiency (low plasma prekallikrein level) is a rare clotting defect characterised by a prolonged partial thromboplastin time (APTT) in vitro but normal thrombin and bleeding times. Wepresent a case of prolonged APTT in labour needing an emergency caesarean section (CS) found to have Fletcher factor deficiency.
